2016 England Under 17 Final Preparation
On Sunday 28th August, the Under 17 Team departed from Stansted to Porto for their final preparation in Feira. Our President, Keith Allen, came to the airport to wish the team good luck as he won’t be able to attend the competition due to personal & work commitments.
The preparation started on Monday and finished on Thursday which included six training sessions and four friendly games against Gulpilhares, Portugal, Paco do Rei and CENAP.
The preparation went well and I could concentrate on details regarding the tactics, to which the players responded well.
On Friday, 2nd September we travelled by bus from Feira to Mieres and we arrived at the hotel at 19:00 hours. We are staying in a nice hotel just 300 metres away from the Sports Centre which is an excellent base for our competition. We are now fully focused on the Europeans and we are looking forward to our first game against Spain, who are the host nation and one of the favourites to win the competition.
