Urgent – Time Table Amendment
Due to August being a main holiday month, I would like to inform you that I have re-arranged the Time Table for this weekend to ensure we can have enough players and goalkeepers to run the sessions.
- 10:00 – 13:00 hours Level 1 & Level 2
- 13:00 – 16:00 hours Level 3 & Level 4
- 16:00 – 19:00 hours Level 5
- 10:00 – 13:00 hours Project 2018 & Under 20’s
- 13:00 – 16:00 hours Youth Ladies Project & Ladies Seniors
Just let you know I won’t be at National Training this month as I will be in China attending the Roller Games with the Ladies Seniors and Under 20’s.
Therefore Arthur Corr will be running the sessions assisted by Carl Donovan, Carlos Junior, Mark Bailey, Nigel Allen and Belinda Mason (Goalkeeper Trainer) on Saturday and Carlos Junior and Mark Bailey on Sunday.
Marisa Parfitt will be the administrator on Saturday and Hayley Hall on Sunday.
Open Sessions for Project 2018
From June National Training we will be starting “OPEN SESSIONS” for Project 2018 on Sunday morning 09:00 – 12:00 hours.
Players born in 2002 and 2003 must attend their sessions on Saturday and then the Sunday session if want to be considered for Under 17 European Championships 2018.
The preparation for next year’s Europeans will be very similar to the last five years, with the “Reduced Squad” being announced in January 2018.
Preparation Plan Dates will be issued soon.
Players register on the day before going on the rink
The rule is that the players must pay before entering the rink, this way they will be registered as attended. This ensures that we also have a list of all players who are on the rink for health & safety reasons.
However, we have some players who arrive with other parents who enter the rink without registering at the desk because their parents are paying later, please make sure that the player still registers at the desk and explains this.
National Training Uniform
The following uniform is to be worn by all players attending National Training
White National Training T-Shirt – with England Roller Hockey on the back and NRHA logo on the front £7
White socks (no club logo socks) – Senior £7 and Infantile £6.50
Navy Shorts – with NRHA logo £10
All can be purchased at National Training
Inviting Players for trials on next Level up
A separate email will be sent to players to invite them for a trial on the next Level up.
When I invite players to the next session they will still remain in the level they are listed in, but for that particular month they will attend the session they are invited to instead of the level they are listed in. The reason for this is so that I can assess the player in that level. The player will not move up until I list them in the next level.
There will always be several players that I need to test at the next level, so I will not always invite the same players each month, I will use a rotation system.
After the assessment, which may be over a few months, I will make a decision based on my principles of the game and player development.
It is not always beneficial to a player to move to a level that is not the right level for him/her at that time. The parents/players tend to feel that it is better for the player to always play in a higher level, this is not correct and by playing in a level that may be too advanced for them, may mean that that player will not develop in the right way or could regress the player.
Finally I would like to say that although I always have the final decision, I always take on board the comments and advice from the Assistant National Coaches.
Off Rink Set Up
We set up the seating so that benches are available for players and parents/adults to sit down and also create an area between the benches for the players bags, therefore please can you ensure that bags are always kept in this area at all times and not placed outside on the walkway. Also, when parents/adults are helping the kids to get ready, please ensure that you are always inside the benches. Players, can you also help to keep this area tidy by keeping your equipment/clothes inside your bags.
Coaches will be responsible for the players during their session, however parents/adults are responsible for their kids whilst they are waiting for their own session or their siblings.
We will ensure that the bins are always available, so please ensure that rubbish is always placed in the bin and not left for others to pick up. If the bins are full, please let Reception know.
Also I have now booked the classroom on Saturdays to give an opportunity for parents and other adults to work/read in a quiet area, so if you wish to use this facility, please log in and out with Marisa. Please be aware that the classroom is not accessible to kids.
Can I also remind players and their respective parents/adults of the following:
- No skates to be worn off rink, unless it is your session
- No balls are allowed off rink (this includes footballs/tennis balls)
- The second rink is off limits to everyone, unless it is for a training session supervised by one of the NTW Coaches
Please Contact Me to let me know if you are NOT attending NTW in August as soon as possible.
