December 2015 Trip To Feira
Last week, from 30th November until 4th December, we held an England Project training trip to Feira with 30 players players born between 2000 – 2003.
During the trip there were 9 training sessions and 5 games.
I am pleased that the objectives of this trip were achieved.
This is the trip where I make decisions on how to progress the preparation for the European Championships, the “Reduced Squad” for which, will be announced in January 2016.
The players developed their tactics and fitness well throughout the week, however everyone should realise that there is still a lot of work to do to ensure that we have a competitive team for the competition.
It was clear to me that some the players don’t understand that the attitude off the rink is as important as on the rink. My selection always takes in to consideration ATTITUDE of the player.
Thanks to Michaela Parfitt for her great job in co-ordinating such big group, with most of the players travelling without parents.
Also, thanks to great assistance from Joe Wheatley during the training and games.
Finally I would like to thank all the parents for the financial support of their children enabling them to participate in this trip, as this is essential in our preparation for the championships.
