Levels 1 & 2 National Training: January 2020

Please note that the Levels 1 and 2 National Training in January will take place on 11th January at Bushfields Sports Centre at the times listed below.

Time Table for 11th January:

  • Level 1 – 10:00 until 13:00 hours
  • Level 2 – 12:00 until 15:00 hours

The quality of the Levels 1 and 2 training will be greatly improved because more time and focus can be given to individual players. Those players who are then considered ready for trial at Level 3 will be invited to the appropriate session on 18th January (National Training Weekend).

It is essential that players attend this additional Level 2 session to be considered for level 3.

I will require an email confirmation as we need to have the numbers for this to be effective training for all.

Please read the list of players for you to see which level your child is currently assessed at and to ensure that your son/daughter attends the right session.

These training sessions will take place on an alternative weekend to Levels 3, 4 and 5, which will remain on 18th January.

Due to the increasing player numbers attending National Training at all levels I am making this change to create more time for levels 3, 4 and 5 with players being split across four training groups. These four sessions will enable me to group players not only by ability and experience, but by the various project groups we have underway. This is designed to ensure all players get the best from their training sessions and enable me to have time to fully focus on the requirements of each group. Sessions will therefore have a tactical focus and each group will have future team objectives in mind.

Please be aware that the list of players for each group will be announced shortly and that each will contain a mixture of appropriate level players.

For instance:

  • Group 1 will contains invites from Level 2 and players from level 3
  • Group 2 will contain Level 3 and Level 4 players
  • Group 3 will contain Level 4 and Level 5 players
  • Group 4 will contain Level 4 and Level 5 players

I hope you will agree this is a very positive change for National Training and will be very helpful in achieving our objectives at every Level. Please be assured that whilst this trial will involve additional Sports Centre costs and less players in each session, the player charges will not be changed. This is purely to focus on the quality of the training and the objectives I have in mind.

Depending on the player attendance and general response to this first month, I would like to do the same in future months provided the Sports Centre is available and there is no clash with regional tournaments.

National Training Uniform

The following uniform is to be worn by all players attending National Training

  • White National Training T-Shirt – with England Roller/Rink Hockey on the back and NRHA logo on the front £7
  • White socks (no club logo socks) – Senior £7 and Infantile £6.50
  • Navy Shorts – with NRHA logo £12 (Junior sizes) and £14 (Senior sizes)

All can be purchased on the day

We set up the seating so that benches are available for players and parents/adults to sit down and also create an area between the benches for the players bags, therefore please can you ensure that bags are always kept in this area at all times and not placed outside on the walkway. Also, when parents/adults are helping the kids to get ready, please ensure that you are always inside the benches. Players, can you also help to keep this area tidy by keeping your equipment/clothes inside your bags.

Coaches will be responsible for the players during their session, however parents/adults are responsible for their kids whilst they are waiting for their own session or their siblings.

We will ensure that the bins are always available, so please ensure that rubbish is always placed in the bin and not left for others to pick up. If the bins are full, please let Reception know.

Also I have now booked the classroom on Saturdays to give an opportunity for parents and other adults to work/read in a quiet area, so if you wish to use this facility, please log in and out with Marisa. Please be aware that the classroom is not accessible to kids.

Can I also remind players and their respective parents/adults of the following:

  1. No skates to be worn off rink, unless it is your session
  2. No balls are allowed off rink (this includes footballs/tennis balls)
  3. The second rink is off limits to everyone, unless it is for a training session supervised by one of the NTW Coaches

Please Contact Me if you are NOT attending NTW as soon as possible.
